Camenae

Janice Lee Ripley, owner and principle designer of Camenae, reinterprets the 3000 year history of jewellery in her hand crafted collections, from her Studio in the San Francisco Bay Area . Her design style, described as 'modern primitive fusion' is largely inspired by motifs from ancient cultures.

The use of centuries old techniques of hand dying, painting, carving bone and hand stamping gives her designs depth an texture.

A broad use of elements from the natural world such as river rock, wood slate, Sterling Silver, copper, brass, pearls and semi precious stones, to name but a few, make these pieces highly individual and intriguing.
